For your lymphatic drainage treatments, our teams welcome you at CARE Charmilles and , starting in April 2026, at CARE Belle-Terre.

Why lymphatic drainage?

Lymphatic drainage is a gentle and effective technique recommended to promote lymph circulation and thus help detoxify the body, reduce inflammation and stimulate the immune system.

It is particularly beneficial for people suffering from circulatory problems, water retention and leg heaviness, as well as for post-operative recovery.

What is lymphatic drainage?

Lymphatic drainage is a specialized form of massage designed to stimulate the circulation of lymph throughout the body. Lymph is a liquid that carries waste products and toxins out of tissues, helping them to be eliminated by the circulatory system. This technique uses gentle, rhythmic and precise movements, applied to different parts of the body to encourage the natural flow of lymph.

What are the benefits of lymphatic drainage?

The benefits of lymphatic drainage are many: it helps to improve lymphatic and blood circulation, reduce oedema and inflammation, promote relaxation and general well-being, and support the immune system. In addition, it is recognized for its effectiveness in managing cellulite and scars, improving the skin's aesthetic appearance and health.

How is lymphatic drainage performed during a physiotherapy session?

During lymphatic drainage sessions, physiotherapists begin by assessing each patient's unique needs, applying proven methods such as the LeDuc technique, renowned for its effective approach to treating lymphedema. This initial assessment enables the treatment to be precisely tailored to the patient's specific conditions.

The session can be complemented by the use of pressotherapy boots. These are particularly indicated for post-operative edema, to facilitate lymphatic circulation and reduce swelling. This compression technology helps maximize lymphatic drainage results.

To ensure objective assessment of treatment effectiveness, measurements of thighs and calves are taken before and after the session. This allows us to quantify results and adjust the treatment for optimum effectiveness, guaranteeing personalized care that meets each patient's health and well-being objectives.

Please note: In order for your basic insurance to cover your sessions, your first session must take place within 5 weeks of your physical therapy voucher being issued.
